The 2025/26 ski season is approaching, and with it, the renowned “Best Ski Resort” study enters its seventh round. Since 2012, the study has evolved into one of the most comprehensive and important long-term studies on winter sports enthusiasts’ satisfaction in the Alpine region.
What makes this study so unique? Unlike many other surveys, we interview winter sports enthusiasts directly on the mountain. With over 300,000 respondents in recent years, the study provides an incomparably detailed and authentic snapshot of the guest experience. For the upcoming winter season, we plan to survey another 50,000 winter sports enthusiasts.
The study design covers the already familiar baseline data, including the importance of various aspects, overall satisfaction, and the Net Promoter Score (NPS). Additionally, in-depth question sets on the most pressing “future issues” of the industry will be included.
In times of significant change, uncertainty, and fierce competition, the analysis provides valuable data that helps ski resorts make the right decisions and position themselves in comparison with the best in the industry.
The study has been supervised by Prof. Dr. Kurt Matzler from the University of Innsbruck since 2012. The results will be available in the summer of 2026.
